Fly Control Services in Westlands
Westlands is a busy commercial and residential area in Nairobi, with office buildings, apartments, hotels, restaurants, shopping centres, and retail businesses. These different property types can experience fly infestations when food waste, uncovered rubbish, damp organic matter, or poorly maintained drainage systems attract insects. Flies can enter through open doors, windows, delivery entrances, and ventilation openings before gathering around kitchens, dining areas, waste storage points, and staff facilities. Without proper control, the infestation can become a persistent hygiene concern for residents, employees, and customers.
Our fly control services in Westlands are designed to address both the visible flies and the conditions that encourage their presence. We begin by inspecting the affected property to identify areas where flies gather, possible breeding locations, and entry points. Particular attention is given to kitchens, restaurants, rubbish collection areas, washrooms, drainage systems, and outdoor compounds. After the inspection, we recommend a suitable treatment plan based on the property’s layout, the level of infestation, and the activities carried out on the premises.
Residential properties benefit from reduced fly activity around kitchens, dining rooms, balconies, and shared facilities. Offices and commercial buildings may require treatment around staff kitchens, cafeterias, reception areas, and waste disposal points. Restaurants, hotels, and food businesses need special attention to areas where food is prepared, stored, or served. We consider these differences when recommending treatment and communicating the necessary precautions to occupants and staff.
Long-term fly management also depends on good sanitation practices. We advise clients to keep rubbish bins covered, remove food waste frequently, clean drains, store food securely, and clean spills promptly. Appropriate window screens and careful management of entrances can also help reduce the number of flies entering buildings. Where outdoor breeding sources are identified, addressing those sources is essential to achieving more reliable results.
